Each alpaca marketplace looks and feels just like it is part of the association's current web site. No major changes or re-designing is required for the association's web site. The Alpaca Marketplace will provide detailed search tools and sales listings offered from only the association's current members. The available Alpaca Marketplace modules that each association can add to their site includes:

What about other web sites that are not an official "Association" can they participate?

How much does it cost the Alpaca Association to participate?
The Alpaca Marketplace program is a FREE service provided to the industry by AlpacaNation. We hope to empower the associations and drive industry growth by expanding the reach of alpacas to all corners of the Internet, mobile devices and other media.
How much does it cost the Association member to participate?
There is no cost for the association member or individual breeders to participate in this program. Each individual alpaca association may reserve the right to charge a fee to it's members, however, there are no fees charged by AlpacaNation.
Are Association members required to pay for an AlpacaNation membership to participate?
No. Beginning in June 2011, AlpacaNation will offer a FREE "Marketplace" membership level, which breeders can sign-up for and will allow them to publish their farm information, alpacas for sale, herdsires and products, on any participating association web sites with which they are a member of. Current members will automatically be added to the Alpaca Marketplace program and will be able to specify, which marketplace web sites they wish to participate on.
How long does it take to setup?
For many associations, the installation of the Alpaca Marketplace on it's web site will be complete in just a few minutes. For more complicated web sites, setup may take up to 48 hours for our staff to complete. We've done all the hard work for you!
Does this replace the Alpaca association's current web site?
No, the Alpaca Marketplace program adds new marketplace functionality to the association's existing web site. In fact it will look as if your association built it and will match your other web site pages perfectly!
Will visitors to the association's web site be drawn back to AlpacaNation?
No, we are not trying to "poach" your association's web site visitors. We are simply providing a new benefit to our members and to help further the growth of the industry. There is no requirement to have any AlpacaNation branding or links back to AlpacaNation on content or pages provided through this program (although we would appreciate it!).
Will only current members of my association be included when this is added to my association's web site?
Yes, we have developed a simple, but highly effective model for staying current with your membership roster(s). Therefore, only members in good standing with your association will be able to participate on your association's web site marketplace.
Will individual breeders have to re-enter all of their listings and sales information to participate?
No. Any of your association members who already belong to, or have belonged to AlpacaNation in the past, can simply login and check a box to join your association's web site marketplace. We will verify that the breeder is eligible to join your marketplace and, wallah!... all of their current sales listings will be instantly published on your Association's web site marketplace. If your assocation member's have sales listings published on websites other than AlpacaNation, we offer a "Data Transfer" service to help them get their listings converted and published in the Alpaca Marketplace program quickly.
When a breeder makes a change to their listing, how long will it take to change on the association web site?
Changes made to a listing will be instantly updated on all Alpaca Marketplace web sites that the breeder participates on.
Does this require web programming or other costly resources to implement and maintain?
Not at all! We literally need only a few minutes of your web master's time and we can handle all the rest. Once it is installed, there is little to no maintenance required for the association. Even though we've done all the hard work to make this easy to implement, you will be acquiring a very robust, complete marketplace solution that your members will thank you for!
